On Friday 12- Dec. the Borough of Bogota held their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of Borough Hall. The residents who gather around were entertained with Carols from the Girl Scouts , and the Carolers from Bogota Beautiful with music by musicians fro the High School Band. Mrs. Claus was on hand to pass out raffle tickets to the children, and a Train provided a quick ride around Larch Ave. before Santa arrived. The current holders of Miss Bogota, Miss Teen Bogota, and Little Miss Bogota greeted the crowd offer Holiday welcomes.When it was time for Santa to arrive he was escorted by Members of the Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. Santa made his way passed the Children & Adults shaking hands, getting hugs, and wishing everyone well. Mayor Chris Keleman thanked him for coming, and asked if he could help light the tree. Santa lead the countdown and at the count of one the tree was lit -up for the Holiday Season.
After the ceremony Santa joined the Children around the corner to have some Hot Chocolate and cookies. He then took the time to pose with those who wanted to share their Christmas wishes.
