Some events that were sponsored by different Companies of the Bogota Volunteer Fire Fire Dept.
On Sunday 21- Sept. Engine Co. # 3 sponsored the Zerbini Family Circus which took place in the little League Fields of Olsen. Battalion Chief Chip Greiner feels that the performances were successful enough to start planning a return of the Circus to Bogota for next year.
On Wednesday 24-Sept. Hook & Ladder # 1 and Engine Co. #1 hosted a Blood & Platelet drive at the W. Broad St. Firehouse. A number of Firefighter signed up to give blood, along with private Citizens joined with elected officials to add to the supply of blood for emergency uses.
On Sunday 26- Oct. Hose Co. #2 is schedule to have their 7th annual Pancake Breakfast in order to help with the operating expenses for this one of the Borough's all volunteer Fire Companies. Firehouse is located at 164 Central Ave Bogota, NJ Prices and time will be announced at a later date.
These are some of the ways the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department serves the citizens of Bogota. The Bogota Fire Department is an all volunteer organization serving the Borough since 1901. They also provide assistance in rescue , and other emergency situation. The Bogota Fire Department is now currently recruiting new members to become volunteers. This is open to anyone Female or Male who are at least 18 years of age , and are residents of Bogota as well as Ridgefield Park, Teaneck ,and Hackensack. Training, and equipment will be provided. There is also a Junior Firefighter program open to young Women, and Men who at at least 16 years of age. A Junior Firefighter will also receive training , and be a part of the support system to the Firefighters themselves.
