  Some events happening in and around Bogota for the weekend starting Thursday 22- May.

A reminder that the Blooming Bogota has been postponed until further notice. It was originally scheduled for Sat. 24- May.

Wednesday - Sunday 21-25 May
Hackensack, NJ

The Holy Trinity Church in Hackensack is holding their annual carnival. It started on Weds. 21- May and will run until Sun. 25- May.  Time are Weekdays from 6:00p to 11:00p Sat. Noon to 11:00p and Sun. Noon to 9:00p

 Carlos Gardel, following his early career to his tragic death in 1935. Narrative in English, songs sung in Argentinean Spanish, and a vibrant dance couple comprise the performance and presentation. Audience is ushered through an era of the 20’s and 30’s in Buenos Aires when Gardel was king.

    Monday 26-May
    Bogota
    -The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept will hold it's Inspection starting at 9:00a. It will be followed by the BFD Memorial Service at 10:00a. These will be held in Front of Borough Hall  located at 375 Larch Ave. in Bogota, NJ
      The Bogota American  Legion Clifford Dunn Post #117 , and the Bogota VFW Ralph Hall Post # 5561 will be holding their Memorial Day Remembrance ceremony starting at 11:00a this will take place on the steps of  the Bogota Borough Hall.
      The Memorial Day Parade will start at 2:00p, this will begin at Palisade Ave. at Cypress Ave  and continue down Palisade to E. Main St. It will then turn South onto Main and cross over the Albert Graf bridge and make a right turn onto Elm Ave. It will move North on Elm until the route makes a left turn onto South St. The Parade will  travel one block then turn left onto Larch Ave and continue South until it passes Borough Hall.
     This year the American Legion will play host to at least 20 Marine who are on active duty. In 2012 Bogota host a number of different Military personnel  who were taking part in the Fleet Week events in New York. That year Marines from 1st Battalion 9th Marines, Sailors from the USS Roosevelt, and Cadets from the Spanish Training Vessel Juan Sebastian De Elcano were welcomed to Bogota. In 2013 Fleet Week was cancelled, but reinstated for this year with Bogota again chosen to be one of the host communities for members of the US Armed Services.
      The Firefighter Service, the Remembrance ceremony and the parade are all opened to the public.
