Spring Concert

   On Friday-16-May the Fine Arts Dept. of Bogota High School presented their Spring Concert for 2014.
   The Concert Band started the evening with music that went from John Philip Sousa Marches to Antonin Dvorak's  Symphony #9 from the New World. After the intermission the various choirs performed. The full High School Choir began the vocal portion  of the concert, then the Women's Choir was next followed by the Men's Choir. The Graduating Seniors had their own moment to sing together one more on the High School Stage, then the final group was the Women's Barbershop Choir ended the singing for the night. The Jazz band then took the show to it's climax with numbers from Dizzy Gillespie to Stevie Wonder.
  Before the final song from the Concert Band the Senior Members took some time to present Band Director  Barry McCann with some presents to express their gratitude to Mr. McCann for all they have learned from him , for some, over the past six years. Some of the presents were a desk top fan for him to use in the Band Room during the warmer months & and new hat to wear during the Parades & Halftime shows.
  The Senior Choir also presented Choir Director Wendy Hughes with some gift for helping them improve their singing through their school years. Among Ms. Hughes present was a Mickey Mouse doll and a more needed Air Horn to control her students when needed.
   The Fine Arts Dept. will have their Awards Dinner on Tuesday 10 June at the Bogota VFW Hall starting at 7:00p It is open to all Students and parents of the Fine Arts programs of Bogota High School. These include the members of Band Choir , Art & Drama Clubs. A number of awards will be presented that evening.  Admission is an item to add to the Pot Luck dinner that will be served. The Bogota VFW is located at 240 Leonia Ave. Bogota, NJ
