The group Bogota Beautiful held a small event n the second floor of the Kennedy Emergency Services Building on Sat 11-Jan. This was to allow the Landmark Forum to give a presentation of their services. Before this, Bogota Beautiful President Amaru Bustamante gave an update on the group. Mr Bustamante talked about what his idea for helping the Borough of Bogota, through the work of citizen volunteers, to improve the street appearance of some of the Borough's main traffic thoroughfares. Working with his fiancee Isabel Rodriguez's effort called Bloomin' Bogota they want to add colourful plantings starting with the West Main St. section of the Borough. Mr Bustamante explained that this is a very new group in Bogota and is looking for input, along with any resident who would be interested in being apart of it's Board of Directors. The openings on the Board currently are the positions of Treasurer and Project Manager. Mr Bustamante also would like citizens interested in more information about Bogota Beautiful to know that it is possible to subscribe to a month newsletter about the group projects, and events that may be coming up.
Bogota Beautiful is trying to schedule their next meeting on Thursday 21- Jan tentatively in the council chambers of Borough Hall, the time to be determined. Another event in the planing is a fund raising event at Luka's Restaurant in Bogota. Either on Wed. 29 Jan, or Thurs. 30-Jan any dinner at Luka's will have 10% of the tab be donated to Bogota Beautiful. The exact day and times also to be determined.
Bogota Beautiful is trying to be a non-profit group looking to help improve the quality of life in Bogota through private efforts, and volunteering by the people who live here. They want to have no political or other affiliation, but would like to help all groups public, private , and Government to move the Borough of Bogota forward.

In Bogota High School sports
The Bogota Lady Bucs lost to St. Dominics on Saturday by the score of 45-54 Stephanie Perpepaj was the leading score with 16 points. They play on Tuesday 14 Jan for an away game at Saddle River Day School starting at 5:30p
The Bogota Wrestling Squad lost to Northern Highland by a score of 12- 65. In the first part of a quad meeting on Saturday. They also had 16-53 lost to Glen Rock. Then had a 39-29 victory against Bergenfield. They are now 3-2 and have their next meet on Monday 13-Jan at Home in Speary Gym against Garfield starting at 7:00p
