Future Events

 Some events coming up towards the end of August -2013.
 On the weekend of 23-24-25 August  Batstock 2013 will take place in various locations.  Hosted by the Wildlife Conservation & Education Center of Ridgefield Park.  This is a three day event to promote public awareness of the usefulness of bat in the local environment  along with being a fundraiser to combat White Nose Syndrome (WNS)  which is causing a decline in the bat population in parts of the Eastern United States.   The opening night event will be at the Meadowlands Environment Center starting at 6:00p and going to 9:00p.  Joe D'Angeli from the Wildlife Conservation & Education Center of Ridgefield Park will be displaying some of  bats from the Center, and will be available to answer question visitor may have about the bats, as well inform people about the helpful benefits bats offer the communities in which they live. There will bat  movies, & documentaries about bats. Also scheduled to be on display is a version of the Batmobile from T.V.  The Meadowlands Environment Center  is located at Two DeKorte Park Plaza Lyndhurst, NJ, 07071. The second day of Batstock 2013 will take place on Saturday 24-August  at Mexicali Live located at 1409 Queen Anne Rd. Teaneck , NJ   Doors open at 3:00p and there will be a chance to look at , and buy varies Bat Themed art & other merchandise.  Performances will begin at 6:00p Tickets for this days event are $10 in advance, or at the door.    The final night of Batstock 2013 will be held on Sunday 25- August at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy located at  20 Puffin Way Teaneck, NJ. This will feature an outdoor bat walk by  Joe D’Angeli  of the Wildlife Conservation & Education Center of Ridgefield Park,  will close out the three-day weekend of Batstock events. Learn how bats use echolocation and play vital ecological roles as the world's only flying mammal.

On Saturday 24-August  The Bergen County Historical Society will be holding a Wine Festival at New Bridge Landing  in River Edge, NJ. This event will showcase some of the wines that produced in the State of New Jersey.  It will start at 12:00p and go until 5:00p and feature wines from seven New Jersey Wineries, as well as live music and provided by local restaurants. Tickets for this event are $20 in advance, $25 at the events $10 for children 12-20 years old and a special $10 ticket for a Designated Driver.  In  admission to the festival will also include three of the historic structures at New Bridge Landing  include The Campbell - Christie House, the Demarest House, and  Steuben House

 On Thursday 29 August
   The Bogota Public Library will have a live animal presentation of " Snakes n Scales"  to learn about different  types of living creature that live underground.  This is part of the Library's Summer reading program  " Dig into Reading" This will take place in the Bogota Senior Center (on the second floor) located at 375 Larch Ave. This event will start at 6:00p and is open to all.
