On Tuesday 27-August there will be an evening of Salsa Dancing hosted by Blooming Bogota. This will be a fund raiser for Isabel Rodriguez's Blooming Bogota project. This will be held at the Bogota Recreation Center located at 162 W. Main St. Bogota, NJ. Doors will open at 8:00p and continue until 10:00p. It has a suggested donation of $20 payable at the door. Salsa Dancing will be available from Ms. Rodriguez. with music being provided by DJ Ron. There will be refreshments available for purchase.
This is an effort to raise money to buy, and install planters and hanging baskets along Main Street and parts of Palisade Ave. This, along with a number of business opening on Main St, will try and add a visual appeal to the central part of Bogota. Ms. Rodriguez is also looking for donations of material for the planters along with some more volunteers to help with the planting. She would like to start the process early in September before the on set of stronger weather. She has already received the support of Mayor Pat McHale, and some volunteers to help with the project.
