Today the Borough of Bogota joined the Nation in remembering & honoring the members of the Armed Service who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to the country.
The day started with the ceremony in front of Borough Hall with the calling of names of those veterans who are " absent". Each was symbolized by a poppy placed on a cross that is in front of the Borough's World War II Memorial.
Wreaths were also placed to recognizes those members of the American Legion and the VFW who have served the United States. Another wreath was placed in front of the MIA- POW Memorial to remember those who have not return home.
The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. along with the Rescue Squad took time to remember their fallen comrades.
In the Afternoon the Memorial Day Parade made it's way through the Borough, where local groups were joined by marching bands. The bond between Bogota and Ridgefield Park continued as both departments showed off their volunteer members and equipment. Show that service to the Country begins at home.
