Tuesday-Dec 18 was a busy day for Bogota High School sports on , and off the court. First the Lady Bucs Basketball team hosted Pequannock at Speary Gym. Bogota got off to a slow start allowing 9 of the first 10 points to the visitors. The Lady Bucs had foul trouble early & often in the first quarter, and could not match the Lady Panthers physically. After one quarter Pequannock leads by double digits, and took an eight point lead into the half.
To start the second half Bogota's Kristin Bautista came out shooting , and scoring to bring Bogota back into the game. Being supported by members of the Boys team, the lady Bucs on a couple of occasions cut the score to two, and even a single point. However Pequannock had a response to stay ahead of their host to gain a 37-46 victory. This lost drops the Lady Bucs record to 1-1 as the next host Midland Park at Speary Gym on Thursday 20-Dec. With a 5:30 p tip-off.
After the Basketball game the Gym was transformed for the Wrestling team to host Dumont. The Bucs came away with a 47-30 decision over the Owls. The next match for Bogota is this Friday 21-Dec as they host Lyndhurst with the match starting at 7:00 p
Meanwhile at the Board of Education meeting the Bogota Volleyball team were honour by the Board for the fine season as three time State group one champions. The Lady Bucs also displayed the other trophies they won through out the season. Coach DiRupo praise his team to the Board explaining how their hard work ,and dedication to each other had been rewarded by their achievements. Coach Dirupo also said they finished as the second ranked team in the State.
Also at the Board Meeting Casey Murphy was honoured for her being young Volunteer of the Year by the Bogota VFW.
