Bogota Volleyball

16- Nov. -2012
The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team completed their latest step on a championship march by winning their section with a 2-0 ( 25-14: 25-13) over Kinnelon at Speary Gym. Bogota now takes on Secaucus in the Group 1 finals on Sat. 17- Nov. at William Patterson University in Wayne NJ.
The Lady Bucs started fast in both game with the serving of Carly O'Sullivan, ( The Bergen Record Athlete of the week.) In the opening game Ms. O'Sullivan started with four straight service points, and seven straight in the following game. Then the number 1 team in New Jersey made those leads stand-up through out the entire match. When need both Ms. O'Sullivan, along with Senior Julia Topor brought the power with theirs kills to stop any of the Lady Colts come back attempts. Ms. Topor displayed her finesse as well when showing her power caught the Kinnelon defense backing up only to dink the ball over the net for the point.
Kinnelon did their best to stay with the Lady Bucs winning some long points, even with the gym itself seeing some action. However with a vocal home crowd support them, the Lady Bucs showed the winning spirit of a # 1 rank team and now move on the the next opponent for a State Championship.
That opponent will be the #2 Secaucus Lady Patriots who had to come from a set down to beat Rutherford 2-1 (19-25 :25-16: 25-23) also played at Speary Gym.
