The Bogota Police Dept. has issued several advisory for local residents.
The first is in lieu of the news stories about "luring incidents" from the Bogota Police:
In an effort to address the recent luring incidents experienced in our surrounding communities the Bogota Police Department requests all Citizens to be more diligent and observant as to their surroundings and report any suspicious incidents immediately to the police.
As in the past, Bogota will be enforcing its' Juvenile Curfew Ordinance during the Halloween Holidays which states:
-No juvenile shall be in any public place in the borough between the hours of 10:00 p.m. on October 29 and 6:00 a.m. on October 30 and 10:00 p.m. on October 30 and 6:00 a.m. on October 31 unless accompanied by the juvenile's parent or guardian. Parents shall not allow unaccompanied juveniles to be in any public place during these hours.
We will also have additional patrols deployed.;

The next is on the possible effect of Hurricane Sandy on the local area;
All residents are encouraged to begin preparations in advance of the pending weather event which will impact our area sometime between late Sunday through Tuesday.
Bogota Office of Emergency Management will be continually updating the Borough of Bogota Website and Bogota Police Department Website with useful information and resources to assist all residents during this weather event. Information will be updated prior to and during the event. Please check the websites often.
