In preparation of the possible effects of Hurricane Sandy on the local area the Bogota Board of Education has canceled all classes for Mon Oct. 29- 2012 As of this time there have been no decision about Tuesday classes. There have been no official announcement about St. Joseph's school, Trinity, or Bogart school. However it would be recommended the Parents of those students should contact their school for updates.
New Jersey Transit has started a system wide shut of all transit services, including Train, Buses, and Light Rail systems. NJ Transit will assess the status of the system and test critical infrastructure before making any decisions regarding the potential resumption of service. In local sports news the Bogota Football Bucs lost at Saddle River yesterday by the score of 12- 34. This drops the Bucs record to 4-4 . There next game is Sat. 3- Nov against Lodi. This will be played at Fiegel Field with a 1:00p Kick-off.
The Lady Bucs Volleyball team have won the Bergen County Girls Volleyball Championship, at Old Tappan with a 2-1 (17-25; 25-20: 25-22) victory over Immaculate Heart Academy. The Lady Bucs become the first group 1 the 38 year old tournament. Bogota made their chance to face IHA again as the defeat Group 3 Old Tappan 2-0 (25-16: 25-10). Bogota went into the final game with a 24 game winning streak and would not let the Blue Eagles prevent them from one more victory.
This is the third Tournament championship for the Lady Bucs this year already having won the Northern Valley Invitational near the beginning of the year. The taking the top spot in the Garden State Classic in October. Next for the Lady Bucs is the defense of their Group 1 North, and State titles.
