Some events coming up in the next few weeks that will helps raise money for local groups .
This Saturday 20-Oct there will be a Pasta Dinner at the High School Gym. This is for the " Friends of Patty Brickley. Ms. Brickley a long time Bogota resident , and well known support of Bogota High School sports she can be seen at the entrance to many of the sporting events in town, helping with tickets , and admission. Ms. Brickley have served the Borough in other way as well. She is President of the Bogota Swim Club for the past six years, Coach St. Joseph's Girls Basketball, and work as a crossing guard around Steen School.
Earlier this year"Aunt Patty" was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma: a type of blood cancer that develops in bone marrow. She is undergoing treatment , and therapy to help the control the effects of the Myeloma. This dinner , and other fundraising events, are taking place to help her , and her family , of set the cost of her medical expenses. At the dinner a check will be presented to the " Friends of Patty Brickley" from the money raised at last weekends ' Lap for Ladies" walk in Olsen Park.

On Sunday 21- Oct The Making Strides walk in overpeck park in Ridgefield Park is taking place.This is in cooperation with the American Cancer Society fight against Breast Cancer The walk is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 21-October-2012 Registration will begin at 9:00a, and the walk will start at 10:00a. It is a 2.3 mile walk for the Bergen -Passaic chapter of the American Cancer Society

On Sunday 28- Oct Bogota Fire Dept Hose #2 will hold their fifth annual Pancake Breakfast in order to help with the operating expenses for this one of the Borough's all volunteer Fire Companies.
