Bogota Blog NJ would like to express it's condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Don Viviani who past away over the weekend. There will be a wake and a Fire Dept. service Wednesday Evening 13-June at Petrik Funeral Home 140 Palisade Ave. Bogota , NJ. Funeral for Mr. Viviant will be held Thursday Morning 14-June. The following is a remembrance by follow Firefighter , and Bogota Councilman Michael Brophy
Don Viviani grew up in Bogota and attended Bogota HS. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was married to his wife Kathy and had had two sons Robert and Christopher. Don was an active member of the Bogota FD Engine Co. #3 for about 50 years. He served as Lieutenant, Captain and Chief of the Department. He worked for many years at the Bogota DPW and served as the DPW Superintendant until he retired a few years ago. Don was a dedicated family man and great firefighter. He was someone who always had a smile on his face and was liked and respected by all who knew him. I remember Don when I was a kid and learned a lot from him when I first joined the FD. Don was a role model and mentor for the younger guys coming on the department. His dedication and service to the Borough went above and beyond the call of duty. He was truly one of the good guys and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him. The FD is like a close knit family and his sudden passing was saddened and was a shock to us. He will be sorely missed and will leave a large void in our hearts.
Bogota Blog NJ would like to thank Council Brophy for sharing his memory of Mr. Viviani .
