Councilman Michael Brophy has told Bogota Blog NJ that he will not seek re-election for another term. After 4 years as a Borough Council member Mr. Brophy is taking some time away from politics to spend more time with his family. He currently Borough Council President after being re-elected in 2010 he is also the Borough's Fire Commissioner. His time will still be spent a Line Officer for the Bogota Fire Dept. as well as coaching baseball for his sons. He has left the option open to run for office again, but that will come at another time.
At this time there has not been a candidate named to replace Council Brophy on the ballot.
